Wick Family | Tiverton, RI
As children grow into adults, their lives take them in different directions. Whether it be for school, a career or business opportunity, or even love, a lot of times grown children move away and families are separated by distance. This family on the blog today is one of those families. They have three adult children - two of whom are married and one has a child. All three children live in different states, or in one instance they live 60+ miles away from mom and dad. Lives get busy and it gets really hard to plan visits to see your parents other than the holidays if you live far away. One thing I often see is families taking vacations together over the summer to spend time together, and it’s so wonderful!
At least once a year I get an inquiry from one such family looking for family portraits. I actually love photographing these extended family sessions because more often than not, these families haven’t had any portraits done since they were maybe in High School. These sessions are usually extra special - whether it be for a parents big wedding anniversary, a new child, or just to celebrate having the family all in one location for once - it’s all meaningful and I love capturing all of the moments.
Mom, Sharon, emailed me about booking this extended family session. They booked an Air B&B in Tiverton, RI and were so excited to have the whole family together. They have their first grandchild, so it was important to capture the baby with his entire family. What a beautiful celebration! The house they were staying at was beautiful, and such a perfect spot for photos. It was such a dream for a family photographer in Tiverton, RI!
Here are some of my favorites from this session. I hope you enjoy them as much I do!
