This week on the blog I am spotlighting one of my favorite vendors! Leslie is the florist and owner behind Leslie Lee Floral Design. I've worked with Leslie on weddings, projects and even some editorial work that has been published. I knew I had to interview her and share her beautiful talent with you all! Leslie is probably one of the sweetest people I've ever met, and absolutely loves what she does - it definitely shows! He floral designs are always perfect, and I fall in love with each bouquet she makes every time I see a new one.
Without further ado, here is my interview with Leslie (and some lovely photos of her talent!)
What’s your area of expertise?
Wedding event floral design.
What brought you to the wedding industry?
I have a background in art therapy, and previously worked at a garden nursery, both of which I loved. Being able to combine these elements while still having so many incredible interactions with the couples I work with is nothing short of amazing and fulfilling.
What was the inspiration for your business name?
I feel that if an individual can put their name behind their business, they really strive for excellence. I make it a point to make a connection with all of my couples and make sure that they feel comfortable with me and my abilities for their special day.
Who is your biggest fan?
Oh that's a tough question! I guess if anybody found any inspiration or beauty in my work, I would be truly flattered.
Best piece of planning advice to a newly engaged couple:
Have fun! You are planning a celebration for your love and your future life together. Make sure it's something that you are going to look back on, smile, and truly enjoy in the moment.
Favorite moment at a wedding?
I love father daughter/mother son dances ! There is such a sweetness to see a happy father/mother and a groom/bride looking on with respect as she/he dances with her/his first love. Or there have been times when a bride will show happy tears when I drop off her bouquet, and that is the absolute best feeling in the world!
Who has been the biggest influence in your wedding career?
Nature. I love letting greenery and blooms do their natural movement and working around that.
What attracted you to the florist business?
The NEED to be creative while also still having personal interactions and relationships. Also, I may have said this already, but I love flowers!!!!!
What has been the hottest trend/colors for 2016?
Blush and white. Muted neutral tones, burgundy/whine color pallet
Where do you look for inspiration?
From my couples. Each wedding is different, and you want it to reflect the bride, the groom, and their overall vision for their special day.
Leslie Lee Floral Design is based out of Southern New England.
